Test-result usage limits
Every self-serve plan includes a monthly test-result allowance. Here’s exactly what that allowance covers, what happens if you approach or exceed it, and how to restore full service.
Monthly test-result limits by plan
Each self-serve plan (Startup, Team, and Growth) includes a monthly allowance of individual test results — one result is a single test outcome (pass, fail, or skip) in a single run. The allowance resets at the start of each calendar month (UTC). You can see your current plan’s allowance and your live usage this month on your billing page, and compare allowances across plans on the pricing page. Legacy and enterprise plans are not subject to these self-serve limits.
What happens as you approach or exceed the limit
Going over your limit is handled gently and in stages — it is never a hard cut-off, and your results keep being recorded the whole way through. The stages only escalate if usage stays over the limit for an extended period:
Heads-up
As you approach the limit
Once you pass about 80% of your monthly test-result limit, the usage meter on your billing page turns amber so you can plan ahead. Nothing changes about how your results are processed.
Notify
Just over the limit
When you go over your monthly limit we show a dismissible notice: you’re over your monthly limit and your results are still being recorded. Everything keeps working — no data is lost and nothing is paused.
Temporary dashboard pause
If you stay over for several days
If usage remains over the limit, your dashboards and analytics are temporarily paused behind an upgrade prompt. This is only the view — processing continues and your results keep being recorded in the background. Upgrading unlocks the dashboard again instantly.
Paused processing
If it persists further
If you remain well over the limit, we pause processing new test results. The raw uploads are still retained for roughly 30 days, so nothing is thrown away — as soon as you upgrade (or we lift the limit for you) processing resumes and the retained results are picked back up.
Restoring full service
Upgrading your plan restores full service immediately — dashboards unlock and paused processing resumes, including any raw results retained during a pause. If you’d rather not change plans, or you need a one-off allowance increase, email support@buildpulse.io and we’ll lift the limit for you. You can upgrade any time from the pricing page.
